Bar push ups are a great modification for standard push ups if you are dealing with shoulder injury. You can gradually lower the bar over time allowing increased gravitational challenge as the shoulders get stronger, without compromising body position. Steve had shoulder surgery a few months ago and recently returned to the gym. He will work this modification until he can do them (with correct form and without pain) on the floor.
