Jump from plate to plate: Set out a variety of plates in a random pattern of trainers choosing. Have the athletes practice getting from one side of the gym to the other without touching the floor. Make sure there are enough plates that there are various paths they can take to get to the other side. Allow them to jump with one foot from plate to plate for the first try. For the second try have them try a two foot jump and stick the landing (broad jump) to cross. Make sure they understand they are not to touch the ground. Give them opportunity to try a few times to see if they can improve their technique for crossing.
