Warm up:

Decorate Your Snowman Relay: Divide Athletes into two teams.  Have one person stand at opposite end of area with their arms spread out for their team to decorate.  Give the teams duplicate items to “decorate” the snowman with such as cones, jump ropes, pool noodles.  Make sure there is at least one item per athlete. On go, the teams race to decorate their snowman. All items must stay on the snowman.  Switch so that each person gets a turn being snowman.

Skill work:

Win/Lose Game:Print pieces of paper enough for all athletes, all pieces should say lose except for one win.  Line athletes up and have them race one at a time to retrieve a card from a trainer and back. Have them keep their card a secret until you call 1,2, 3 and then have them take turns showing good sportsmanship.  A conversation about appropriate things to say when losing and winning prior to game start may set them up for success. “Good job.” “That was fun even if I didn’t win”, “Lets play again”, “Its ok”. Reset and try a number of times to allow opportunity to improve skills.
