In 2020, we will take A Trip Through Storyland. That’s right, we want to you come to the party dressed as a character from a book.
DON’T PANIC! Your options are virtually limitless. You can go classic (think Homer, Dostoevsky, Dickens), modern (Jack Reacher series, The Notebook), books for adults (Steven King, E.L. James) or kids (Harry Potter, Winnie the Pooh), you can even go with non-fiction if that is more your speed.
We want you to feel fabulous out on the dance floor.
So, if that means taking a departure from reality and going full costume, do it. If you just want to wear something that looks fantastic on you and is more of a subtle “homage”, that is also totally fine.
If, for example (spoiler alert: this is happening) KB decided to come as Miss Havisham, she might show up in an aged-looking wedding dress and maybe some gray/white hair. They made an epically-soundtracked movie of this book in the 90’s so remember, movies made from books are sources for inspiration as well.
We will have nametags to allow you to give one hint (character name, author, title) and let people try to guess the rest. Some of you will have fun picking a more obscure book and maybe no one can figure out who you are. Or perhaps you would have more fun picking something that many people will recognize. You can choose!
